Richmond Round is the borough's independent local publication. We exist to keep residents of Richmond upon Thames connected to what matters where they live: news, planning, the river, neighbours, what is on, who to call when something needs fixing.
That last part is where local businesses come in.
If you run a shop, a service, a trade, a club, or anything else that serves the people of Richmond, you belong here. Most of what we offer is free. The paid options exist for businesses who want more presence, more reach, or more support, and we are happy to talk about those when the time comes.

Free classified Noticeboard advertising
Anyone can place a classified ad on Richmond Round. There is no charge. Your ad runs for a month, after which you can renew it for another month if it still applies, or let it expire.
Free classifieds are open to residents and businesses on equal terms. A neighbour selling a sofa and a plumber offering services place ads through the same form, into the same browse list, with the same monthly run.
We do ask for two things. First, a one-line declaration of who you are: a local resident or a business or trader. This stays internal; readers see the same ad either way. Second, your ad must be legal, decent, honest, and true. We moderate lightly and refuse the small number of submissions that fail those tests.

The Richmond Round directory
Alongside the Noticeboard, Richmond Round runs a directory of every shop, service, club, and community organisation in the borough. The directory is free for every business in Richmond. There is no charge for being listed, regardless of size or sector.
The directory is built from research. If your business is in Richmond, your listing may already exist. If it does not, you can add it.
Claiming your listing
If we have already listed your business, you can claim it. Claiming is free. Once you have claimed your listing, you can:
- Edit your description in your own words
- Update your contact details, opening hours, and website
- Add photographs of your premises, your team, or your work
- Respond to anything that needs correcting
A small green Claimed listing badge appears on your entry, telling readers that this listing is maintained by the business itself rather than from public records.
To claim your listing, find your business in the directory and use the Is this your business? link on the page. We verify ownership through the email address on the business's website where possible, or by a short manual check where not. Search the directory
If your business is not listed
If you are not in the directory, you can add yourself. There is no charge for this either. We approve new listings after a short review to confirm you are a real business operating in the borough. Once approved, your listing is yours to maintain.

Verified Local Business
The basic claimed listing is free, and remains free as long as you want to keep it. Some businesses want more from their presence on Richmond Round, and the next step up is the Verified Local Business badge.
This is a paid enhancement to your existing claimed listing. It does not change where you appear in the directory. What it does is enhance how your listing appears within its category, and it adds features that help residents take you seriously.

- A gold Verified Local Business badge on your listing
- Sponsored placement at the top of your category (above non-verified listings)
- An expanded listing with more photographs and richer content
- Opening hours, map, and direct contact prominent on the listing
- An external link to your own website
- Priority response on listing updates and changes
- Access to performance reports showing how your listing is being seen
The verification process confirms three things: that you are who you say you are, that you operate at the address claimed, and that your business is in good standing. The badge is not a review of your work; it is a confirmation of your legitimacy. Reviews come from your customers, separately, over time.
Pricing
It is a continuous subscription, managed through our secure payment provider; you can stop it at any time.
To become a Verified Local Business, claim your listing first. Once your listing is claimed, the upgrade option appears on the edit screen.
Display advertising and sponsorship
For businesses who want more than a directory listing, Richmond Round offers display advertising and sponsorship across the publication. These options give your business a presence beyond the classifieds and directory: richer pages, photography, video, links, sectional sponsorship, featured placement in our member email mailings, and bespoke onboarding for the largest packages.
We have not put pricing on this page because every business arrives with different goals, and the right option depends on what you are trying to achieve. We would rather have a short conversation than push you toward a tier on a comparison table.
