## Queensmere Pond in Putney Heath has been officially reopened following an 18-month £150,000 restoration project.

The pond has been turned from a concrete-edged pool into a natural wildlife area with plants, reedbeds and improved habitats for animals.

The project, supported by the Mayor of London’s Rewild London Fund, aims to boost biodiversity and improve water quality.

Built in 1887 and once used for bathing and boating, it’s been restored as part of wider conservation work across Putney and Wimbledon.
